10 Years of AIMUN
Amity International MUN
An academic simulation of the United Nations, Amity International Model United Nations (AIMUN), introduced by Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson Amity Group of Schools under the aegis of Amity Educational Resource Centre (AERC) aims to nurture students to discuss about issues at a global level, find innovative ways to resolve them and understand topics pertaining to international relations and unity within nations.
The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization tasked to promote international co-operation and to create and maintain international order. The headquarters of the UN is in Manhattan, New York City, and experiences extraterritoriality. Further main offices are situated in Geneva, Nairobi, and Vienna. The organization is financed by assessed and voluntary contributions from its member states. Its objectives include maintaining international peace and security, promoting human rights, fostering social and economic development, protecting the environment, and providing humanitarian aid in cases of famine, natural disaster, and armed conflict.
Model United Nations
Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation and/or academic activity in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Usually an extracurricular activity, some schools also offer MUN as a class. Participants in Model United Nations conferences, known as delegates, are placed in committees and assigned countries, or occasionally other organizations or political figures, where they represent members of that body.
